CCPL offers honorary clinical placements to psychotherapists in training.
Each application will be considered on an individual basis, and selection will focus on the following criteria:
• To attend a recognised clinical training in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, or Psychoanalysis.
• To have a strong interest in psychodynamic therapies and psychoanalysis.
• Self-development and self-awareness, and experience of personal therapy.
• Some experience of one-to-one counselling work with clients in an organisational setting or other relevant experience.
• Two-year commitment for clinical work.
• Holding a caseload of a minimum of 3 clients.
• Regular attendance of CCPL supervision.
• Commitment to one’s personal and professional development; ongoing personal therapy for the duration of the placement.
• Attending team meetings and CPDs offered in-house.
• Maintaining professional conduct in all your dealings with CCPL clients and staff.
• High-quality group supervision by experienced Psychotherapists and Psychoanalysts.
Supervision takes place fortnightly; there are up to four counsellors in each group.
• A conducive environment, that will support you in your learning and development as a therapist.
• An opportunity to practice in a psychodynamic/psychoanalytically-informed service, working with clients in longer-term therapy. Additional training and CPD opportunities are also offered to counsellors.
