Affordable Therapy

CCPL offers longer-term psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy to people who are looking to speak about a wide range of emotional issues, such as anxiety, depression, loss, and other distressing life events.

Some of our clients come to deal with a very specific issue that is creating emotional distress in their lives, others want to understand a troubling past experience, or change the quality of their relationships with their family and friends.

The psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapies offered at CCPL focus on understanding the underlying roots and meaning of psychological distress. Rather than concentrating primarily on symptom reduction, this approach supports clients in exploring their difficulties within the context of their relationships, life experiences, and unique personal history, with the aim of fostering deeper and more enduring psychological change.

Having psychotherapy at CCPL will be different for each person, and particular to their engagement with the therapeutic process and the relationship with their therapist.

The therapy contracts offered involve once or twice-weekly sessions with the same therapist, lasting a minimum of one year. The majority of the people we work with tend to make use of the full year offered, and in some cases there is the possibility to extend the contract further, depending on what is suitable for each person, and considering the resources of the service at that time.

How to self-refer

Please download and complete the forms below, and email them to us at info@ccplondon.org.uk. The information contained in these forms will be

kept confidential.

- Self-referral form

- Equal opportunities form

Once the form is returned and we had a brief initial call with you, if appropriate, we will invite you to an in-person assessment appointment. Assessments are charged at £55 (or £35 if you are unemployed, retired or a student) and last approximately 90 minutes.

Fees for ongoing psychotherapy sessions vary according to individual circumstances, and will be discussed at the assessment appointment. Starting from a minimum of £25 per session, we ask all clients to agree their session fee on a sliding scale based on their capacity to contribute.

There is no guarantee that there will be a referral to one of our trainee therapists after the assessment consultation. A decision concerning a potential referral for therapy will be taken by the Clinical Team after the consultation with the assessor. Psychotherapy is not always the most suitable form of help and it may be considered that an alternative form of therapy would be more appropriate. If CCPL is not a suitable service for you, we may recommend alternative services.
