CCPL is a low-cost psychotherapy service offering a minimum of one year of affordable therapy.
Based in the heart of Islington, we're conveniently located between Finsbury Park and Holloway Road station.
What is psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy?
The psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapies offered at CCPL focus on understanding the underlying roots and meaning of psychological distress. Rather than concentrating primarily on symptom reduction, this approach supports clients in exploring their difficulties within the context of their relationships, life experiences, and unique personal history, with the aim of fostering deeper and more enduring psychological change.
How much does therapy cost?
Fees for ongoing psychotherapy sessions vary according to individual circumstances, and will be discussed at the assessment appointment. Starting from a minimum of £25 per session, we ask all clients to agree their session fee on a sliding scale based on their capacity to contribute.
Is what I share with you confidential?
Any information you share with CCPL is confidential, subject to the provisions of our Safeguarding Policy and Privacy Policy. Confidentiality statements are also included in the Self-referral form and Therapy Agreement.
Are you post-code restricted?
We’re not post-code restricted and accept self-referrals from adults across London. The weekly sessions we offer are currently face-to-face only from our rooms in 38 Mayton Street, N7 6QR, which is easily reachable by public transport from Islington, Camden, Central London, Walthamstow and Hackney.
How long will I have to wait to start therapy?
If we are a suitable service for you, we will aim to refer you to one of our therapists within 2 months of receiving your self-referral form.
Are your rooms accessible?
We are pleased to offer two step-free rooms on the ground floor of our premises at 38 Mayton Street, N7 6QR.
I'm a trainee psychotherapist, can I apply for a placement?
CCPL offers honorary clinical placements to psychotherapists in training who have a strong interest in psychodynamic therapies and psychoanalysis.
As our recruitment is open throughout the year, if we don’t have vacancies at the time of receiving your application, we will keep your details on file and consider your application when we next have a vacancy.
How is CCPL funded?
CCPL is a not-for-profit community-based service primarily funded through the provision of low-cost weekly psychotherapy and room hire. All income generated is reinvested into the service to ensure continued access to affordable therapy.
As a newly established service we also rely on the generosity of individual donors and organisations who support our mission. If you wish to make a donation or find out more about how to support us, please click here.
